Bleeding disorders impact women in many ways. Women may have Hemophilia or vonWillebrand's disease and deal daily with their own unpredictable symptoms and bleeding. Women are often the primary caregivers for children and young adults with bleeding disorders; they hold families together while helping with every-other-day infusions, frequent trips for medical care, and worrying about the costs of this care. Some women support a significant other who suffers from a bleeding disorder and some women live with the trauma of losing a loved one due to bleeding disorder complications such as HIV or Hepatitis.
